I'm back telling you about the second part of my journey to the Northern Vietnam. It was Ninh Binh, the current province of the historical capital of Vietnam, Hoa Lu from 968 to 1010. We stayed in Ninh Binh for 1 and half a day, but only visited Trang An and Bai Dinh Pagoda.
I was really surprised by the green of Trang An. The atmosphere was so fresh and not-so-commercialized. The only to tour Trang An was using ferry-boat. Riding a ferry was really a hard job. It seemed so tiresome and difficult. Our ferryman was gentle. On the way touring Trang An, we stopped by a place called Den Tran (Tran Temple), where all the tiredness began. Don't you ever step on the stairs to Tran Temple if you have no belief. Dizzy, thirsty and shaking legs, those were what I felt when I was back from the temple lol.
Bai Dinh Pagoda, the large complex which contained a lot of records was very huge. We spent most of the time taking photos there and then walked like we almost died to be back to the entrance though I once came there a few years ago. Walked, walked and walked, like heading to an unknown destination. The most exhausted day in the entire journey. That was the reason why we couldn't visit Tam Coc as we planned in the following morning.
We reached Ninh Binh when it's almost evening of November 4th, after about 3 hours on the train from Hanoi. Before going out for dinner, we rested for a bit. We didn't know where to eat so we asked the hotel staff. They gave us a place which was near the hotel (as they said) but we were lost as hell. So Foody helped us to find another one. After 1 hours of walking with hunger, we finally had our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant for the price and the quality. I surely come back there next time visiting Ninh Binh.
Let's talk more about what we ate in Ninh Binh. The most famous dishes there were the goat meat and the crispy rice with sauce. They were ok but not my fave. There was a lot of restaurant serving these dishes on the way to Trang An.

We chose Mien Luon (Vermicelli soup with eels) for the breakfast. Not very special but good. And if you don't know what to eat, come to the small restaurant located at 79 Luong Van Tuy. Another recommendation from me. Low-price, yummy and lovely owners. We ate all the dishes of the restaurant, I know what you are to call us haha.

We checked out the hotel in the noon of the third day in Ninh Binh for being back to Hanoi, preparing for the next place of the journey, Sapa - Lao Cai. Thank Ninh Binh for treating us so nicely, I hope to be back to visit Tam Coc - Bich Dong and a lot of beautiful places we missed to see that time.
